This policy explains what information HostSNAP collects when you order hosting, register a domain through our RegistryRocket link, or hire us for web design, and how we use it.
We collect the information you give us directly: your name, email address, business or site name, and any messages you send our support or design team. If you order hosting, we also collect billing information needed to process payment through PayPal or to confirm an e-transfer.
We use your information to set up and manage your hosting account, respond to support and design requests, send service-related emails such as billing notices or maintenance windows, and improve our own site and services.
If you pay by PayPal, you are moved to PayPal's own site to complete the transaction under PayPal's privacy policy and security practices; PayPal shares limited transaction details with us such as the amount and a transaction ID. If you pay by e-transfer or bank transfer, we see only what your bank includes with the payment and the reference you send us. We do not receive or store your full card, PayPal, or online banking login details.
If you register a domain through the RegistryRocket link on our Domain Names page, the information you provide there (contact details, WHOIS information, payment details) goes directly to RegistryRocket, not to HostSNAP. Their privacy policy, not this one, governs that data.
We use a small number of cookies to keep this website functioning correctly, such as remembering a plan you've selected while ordering. We don't use cookies for third-party advertising.
We do not sell your information. We share it only where necessary to run the business: with PayPal when you choose to pay that way, with RegistryRocket only if you use their registration link, with our colocation provider to the extent operating the physical server requires it, and where required by law.
We keep account and billing information for as long as your hosting account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for accounting purposes. If you cancel, your hosted files and email are removed after a reasonable grace period. Back up anything you need before then.
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing hello@hostsnap.net. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe and let you know if anything needs to be retained for legal or billing reasons.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including free SSL on hosted sites, restricting who on our three-person team can access account and billing records, and nightly backups. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we treat your data the way we'd want our own treated.
Our services aren't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
We may update this policy as our practices evolve. We'll post changes here, so it's worth checking back occasionally.
